Spanish Term 1 Overview 2023

In this term, students are encouraged to discover the beauty of the Spanish language. Learners will be introduced to the fundamentals of the Spanish language, so they are able to interact in their target language at a starter level.

The content closely follows the vocabulary and structures found in the Spanish Passport resource, such as:

Greetings, Introductions, Numbers and counting, Personal characteristics-Parts of the body, family, colours, seasons, and feelings.

Students will be able to understand and communicate using simple words and sentences.

Students will be exposed to different genres, songs, and games to enhance their learning.

Differentiated teaching and enrichment activities are incorporated for years 3/4, 5/6 ensuring all students are working at a level they are capable of.

Essential learnings are directly from the achievement standards in the Victorian Curriculum. Achievements are drawn from descriptors in the Victorian Curriculum.
